Pune: Agneyastra Energetics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited – the defence business of Bharat Forge Limited – has announced the groundbreaking of its strategic defence manufacturing facility near Madakasira in Sri Sathya Sai District.
The new Agneyastra Energetics facility is expected to strengthen India’s indigenous manufacturing capabilities in advanced energetics and ammunition systems for modern defence and aerospace applications.
Spread across more than 1,000 acres, the integrated Agneyastra Energetics campus will be developed with a planned investment of ₹1,500 crore over the next two to four years.
The facility is being designed with advanced manufacturing technologies, high-safety testing infrastructure, and specialised logistics capabilities to support India’s growing defence and aerospace ecosystem.

The Agneyastra Energetics project is expected to generate nearly 800 direct jobs and around 2,500 indirect employment opportunities.
The development is also expected to contribute significantly to regional economic growth while further positioning Andhra Pradesh as a preferred destination for aerospace and defence manufacturing investments.
Agneyastra Energetics has been established to reduce India’s dependence on imported energetics materials by developing indigenously designed, manufactured, and globally compliant solutions.
The initiative aligns with the Government of India’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision by promoting import substitution, local value creation, and technological self-reliance in strategically important materials.
